Eat-Pray-Love

Finally.... I have finished reading this book 348 pages - Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I remembered I bought this book when I was next to Penang at David's place. I am not the person who particularly have preference or cherry-pick on the author and title. For instance I bought this book because of the title and its nice book cover.

Eat-Pray-Love is a spiritual book. It's a real story of the author who is 30++, who has failed in her marriage. After a divorce and the subsequent depression, she decided to spend a year trying to restore balance to her life by travelling to three places - Rome, India and Bali. Reading through her travelling stories gave me an insight of the culture and interesting part of the countries. Rome is mysterical, India is full of holiness and Bali is fascinating with its people and nature.

Some part of the stories is funny when she talked about people and food, some part is bored when it started to wane during the 'Pray' section. It is when she was in India - the holy place - Ashram, practising and studying meditation. This book is totally a self-discovery experiences of the author, how she overcome her depression and managed to love and beloved again in her life.

While reading through this book it makes me feel that I did sometimes out of balance and downbeat, everyone needing equilibrium restored I suppose. The pursuit of pleasure, devotion and balance are vital in life.

I find Elizabeth's writing is chatty and deep. She is a quick study and confident. It was a slow reading but the thoughts behind the stories are worthwhile.
