冬至快乐!

This year's celebration is less merrier. Two brothers are abroad and additionally sister is away this time.
Surprisingly, mum's usual ways of making the 'tang yuen' is varied from previous year. She said, not necessary to have smaller rice ball, only making two colours - red and white. Therefore the whole preparation was quick and finished within half an hour.
It was fun to look at the soft and colourful rice balls and it is delicious to eat with a sweet soup. Traditionally in the Chinese Calendar, 'Dong Zhi' festival is very important as mum always thought so. She likes to say, becomes one year older oh.....It is also a day of families get-together.
I am grateful.....grateful that I can still taste the rice ball made by mum. :-)
